Elżbieta Mrożek-Loska

 

Elżbieta Mrożek-Loska is a graduate of the Katowice Academy of Music in the viola class of prof. Zygmunt Jochemczyk.

She is a laureate of music competitions (Poznań, Aix-en-Provence, Val Tidone). She belonged to the group of Scholarship Holders of the National Children's Fund and the Minister of Culture. She participated in music interpretation courses under the guidance of eminent educators: Zygmunt Jochemczyk, Stefan Kamasa, Paul de Clerck, Kurt Levin, and Grigoria Zhyslin. In the years 1998–2004 she was a member of the Aukso Chamber Orchestra, with which she performed in the country and abroad (Switzerland, Brazil, Spain, England, Germany, the Netherlands) playing with many great musicians. Employed since 2002 at the home university as an assistant to prof. Zygmunt Jochemczyk. In 2008 she obtained a doctoral degree and in 2016 she obtained a postdoctoral degree. He has been working as a professor since 2020.

She has performed many times with the New Music Orchestra and the Silesian Quartet, also invited to various chamber projects appearing in prestigious concert halls, i.e.NOSPR in Katowice, NFM in Wrocław or the National Philharmonic, etc.

In cooperation with Piotr Pławner (Plawner Quintett: Piotr Pławner - violin, Sibylla Leuenberger - violin, Elżbieta Mrozek-Loska - viola, Isabella Klim - cello, Piotr Sałajczyk - piano) a CD with Stanisław Moniuszko's String Quartets and Juliusz Zarębski's Quintet released in CPO in 2019 was released. 2018 was released an album from collaboration with Magdalena Kling-Fender and Robert Fender with transcription of Goldberg Variations for a string trio, which was selected for Top Albums by Global Music Awards Winners in the USA in 2019.

She performed in India leading the viola section of the Symphony Orchestra of India, as well as a chamber concert of with Dmitry Sitkovetsky. He collaborates with the pianist Zbigniew Raubo, with whom he recorded the sonatas of Franck and Brahms. She was a member of the Lasoń Ensemble (composed of: Krzysztof Lasoń, Agnieszka Lasoń - violin, Elżbieta Mrożek-Loska-altówka, Stanisław Lasoń- cello and Piotr Sałajczyk-piano), the band with which she performed at festivals, including in Kiev, Lviv, Beijing, Ankara, Istanbul, Warsaw at Contemporary Music Festivals and at the Polish Piano Festival in Słupsk. This band has made recordings with Polish Piano Quintets (nomination for the Fryderyk Award 2013), as well as with music by Paweł Hendrich, Justyna Kowalska-Lasoń, Stanisław Bromboszcz and the films: Clichés of Remembrance, Lesson of Agata, My Pole.

Organizer of annual Viola Conferences at the Music Academy in Katowice since 2016. She participated as a lecturer: in the Beskid Music Interpretation Workshops in Upper Knights, Music Interpretation Course organized by the Polish Altowiol Society, the Viola Forum in Poznań and the Music Course in Bałoszyce. She participated in the works of the jury at the Macroregional Auditions of the Violin and Viola Class I and II degrees, as well as competitions for violists of Music Schools and students of Music Academies, as well as the Polish National Competition Jan Rakowski in Poznań. Her pupils were laureates of prizes at National and International Music Competitions.
