Marcin Kozieł

Marcin Kozieł lives and works in Vienna, where he studied at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst (song accompaniment) and at a music conservatory (opera répétiteur training).
He collaborates as a concert pianist with Austrian's leading cultural institutions, including Theater an der Wien, Vienna Staatsoper and Wiener Kammeroper. Since March 2010, he has taught at Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst. He has accompanied many Polish artists from the fields of both popular music and opera (including Andrzej Hiolski, Izabella Kłosińska, Danuta Błażejczyk, Jerzy Połomski, and Hanka Bielicka) and has also performed alongside a number of foreign artists (including Daniela Fally, Angelika Kirschschlager, Miriam Albano). In addition , he has led his own signature classes for singers and pianists. He has worked with such outstanding musical personalities as Sir Neville Marriner, Enoch zu Guttenberg, Sir Roger Norrington, Christoph Eschenbach, Helmut Rilling and Krzysztof Penderecki.

He is closely associated with the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera (where he has prepared soloists for contemporary and German-language operas - Strauss' Elektra, Dusapin's Medeamaterial, Rihm's Jakob Lenz), the Warsaw Philharmonic (concert versions of by Strauss' Ariadna on Naxos, Wagner's Tristan and Isolde and Die Walküre, as well as Weill's Der Silbersee) and the Teatr Wielki in Poznań (Wagner's Parsifal). The latest productions in which Marcin has been involved include Rossini´s Wilhelm Tell, the world premiere of Schreier's Hamlet at the Theater an der Wien, Tchaikovsky's The Maid of Orleans, Dvořák´s Rusalka, Moniuszko's Halka for the Moniuszko Year, featuring Piotr Beczała as Jontek, Fidelio for the Beethoven Year in Vienna and Gershwin´s Porgy and Bess.

Since March 2021, he has regularly collaborated with the greatest stars of opera stage, including Ramon Vargas, Jusif Eyvazov and Anna Netrebko, whom he has mostly trained in demanding German-language opera literature.
